Fast Page Load Speed
Before you decide whether to choose WebHostingHub or Bluehost, you need to at least know how fast these web hosts are. A fast web host will load your page quicker, reduce your bounce rate, and allow your web page to rank higher on search engines. A slow web host will do exactly the opposite of that.
But how do you know if a web host is fast or not? Simple, you test.
Bluehost Fast Page Load Test
Our speed test showed that Bluehost is quite fast, and we expected nothing less. Our webpage – a dummy website built by a Grocery Store Development Service –
loaded in about 700ms.
WebHostingHub Fast Page Load Test
WebHostingHub proved to be much slower than Bluehost, as our webpage had an average page load speed of 1.4 seconds. That’s about twice as slow as Bluehost.
It appears that Bluehost is quite faster than WebHostingHub. However, that doesn’t tell us the full picture. What if a web host is fast but has zero value for money?
Let’s find how much value these two web hosts offer and at what price.
Bluehost vs. WebHostingHub; Pricing And Value For Money
To choose the best web hosting plan for you, you need to know three important things. The first is what you need. How many sites do you want? How heavy will the sites be?
The next thing that you must know is what is onoffer by each web hosting plan under consideration. How many sites are you allowed? What of storage space? Do you have to pay for a domain or is one offered for free? How about SSL certificates?
The third thing you must know is how much you can afford. How much can you afford to pay per month over an initial three year period?
With the knowledge of these three things, you should be able to reasonably decide which web hosting plan is right for you. Now, except you want to publish a web page that would have millions of views in the first week, it would be more sensible and cost-effective to purchase a shared hosting plan.
That’s why we’re now going to compare the shared hosting plans of both web hosts.
Entry Level Plan; Basic Plan vs. Spark Plan
The Basic plan of Bluehost comes with 1 website, 50 GB of storage space, unmetered bandwidth, a free SSL certificate, 1 included domain, 5 parked domains and 25 subdomains. The plan costs $2.95 per month.
Compared to that, the Spark plan of WebHostingHub comes with a free domain, free SSD, 2 websites, unlimited storage and bandwidth, 5 parked domains and 25 subdomains, and free website transfer for three sites. The plan is pretty pricey and costs $5.99 per month. Right out the gate, we can see that this plan is more expensive than the Basic plan of Bluehost. Since it’s a lot more expensive (about double the price), it’s rather reasonable that the plan would come with a lot more features.
However, I have only one grouse with the plan. At $5.99, you should be able to host more than two websites. Additionally, the Spark plan of WebHostingHub isn’t truly an entry-level plan, and thus people who cannot afford to pay $5.99 per month may not find the web host attractive.
Mid Tier Plan; Plus Plans vs. Nitro Plan
Bluehost has two midtier plans and they are the Plus plan and Choice Plus plans. Both plans are incredibly similar and are only different in terms of renewal pricing and extra security features.
The Plus plan has unlimited websites, unlimited storage, unmetered bandwidth, a free SSL certificate, standard performance, unlimited domains, unlimited parked domains, unlimited subdomains, Spam Experts and 1 Office 365 Mailbox— free for thirty days. The plan costs $5.45 per month for an initial three-year plan and renews at $10.99
The Choice Plus plan has all the features of the Plus plan plus Site Backup in the form of Codeguard Basic. However, instead of renewing at $10.99, the plan renews at $14.99.
The Nitro plan of WebHostingHub comes with a free domain, free SSD, unlimited websites, unlimited storage and bandwidth, unlimited email accounts, and three free website transfers. The plan costs $7.99 and renews at $13.99.
The Nitro plan is way more expensive than the Plus plans, but you wouldn’t know that if you looked at the features of both plans. At the base, both plans come with unlimited websites and storage. The only significant thing that separates them is the fact that Bluehost doesn’t have free site transfers. But even that feature would be rather useless if you don’t plan on transferring a website in the first place.
WebHostingHub’s Nitro plan is only worth it if you have sites to transfer. If you don’t, the Choice Plus plan offers more value for money.
Top Tier Plan; Pro Plan vs. Dynamo Plan
The Dynamo plan of WebHostingHub comes with a free domain, free SSD, unlimited websites, 4× normal performance and speed, unlimited storage and bandwidth, unlimited emails, unlimited parked and sub-domains, and three free website transfer. The plan costs $9.99 per month and renews at $17.99.
The Pro plan of Bluehost comes with unlimited websites, unlimited storage, Domain Privacy + Protection, Codeguard Basic for site backup, a dedicated IP, unlimited domains, Spam Expert, free SSL certificate, unmetered bandwidth and 1 Office 365 Mailbox free for thirty days. The plan costs $13.95 per month.
The Pro Plan is the first Bluehost plan to be more expensive than a WebHostingHub plan. And it backs its’ high price up pretty well. It comes with a lot of extra security features that you would probably have paid for if you hadn’t bought the plan. Is it worth $13.95 per month? Absolutely.
The Dynamo plan of WebHostingHub too is decently priced, although the only difference between it and the Nitro plan is extra performance and speed. But even that is worth something if you plan on hosting more than five or six websites.
Generally, both plans are great, and you’d probably get enough value for your money if you went with either one.
The Right Host For You
Asides a poor showing in our fast page load speed test, WebHostingHub has done quite alright. Despite the fact that they do not have a proper entry-level plan, their shared hosting package has, for the most part, been reasonably priced.
Unfortunately, the only problem is that we’re comparing WebHostingHub to the juggernaut that is Bluehost. Bluehost has better page load speed, and when it comes to pricing and value for money, they offer a lot more than WebHostingHub.
Of course, the Dynamo plan of WebHostingHub is cheap for a top tier plan and may actually be more attractive than the Pro plan of Bluehost. But even that may be called into question when you consider than Bluehost is clearly twice as fast as WebHostingHub. All other Bluehost plans clearly have more value for money than their WebHostingHub counterparts, and it would be throwing your money away to go for a WebHostingHub plan over a Bluehost own.
All in all, all the metrics point to Bluehost as being the more reasonable hosting choice.
Alternative
WebHostingHub is a great alternative to Bluehost for all.the right reasons. They have great uptime, good customer support, and even a 90-day money-back guarantee. They allow up to three free website transfers on all plans, and maybe the best host for you if you are moving over from another host. The sign-up process is not long or arduous, and you can get your website up and running in a short while.
However, it’s not all rosy. If you choose WebHostingHub, you’re going to have to work extra hard to make your web page rank. This is because their average page load speed isn’t impressive, and that plays a major role in search engine rankings. You may have to prepare for lower conversion rate, and your bounce rate may get higher. Additionally, WebHostingHub’s entry-level plan is quite expensive (more than $5), and not everyone will be able to afford it.
