Filling specific form in template with htmlfill
This snippet shows how to fill in a form (without parsing whole response) with any arbitrary data.
First we need to create a function that will handle that for us.
For example lets use a file /widgets.mako.html for this purpose. Lets create a def that will fill in the form for us:

That's all that is needed to start filling our forms on function side.
Now we can create a def that will contain actual form markup:
${search_form()}
<%def name="search_form()" filter="widget.formfill">
<form action.....>
<input type="text" name="name" value="' />
</form>
</%def>
From finally inside the template we can do:
${form_filler(capture(search_form),dict(name='XXXXXXXX'))}
Which will result in:
<input type="text" value="XXXXXXXX" name="name" id="name">
One just needs to remember to use capture or set buffered attribute to the mako defs.
This method ofc. will work with Sqlalchemy rows or any other arbitrary data. It doesn't conflict with @validate decorator that will work just fine.
